Player Stories

Had an amazing day, the whole experience was so memorable and even though we lost 😫 it was such an honour to represent Sheffield Wednesday and the charity.

The staff were so friendly and helpful and the referee was hilarious. Getting man of the match just topped of my day and given me such a high that I want to experience again and again.

Football Aid 2019

Our 1st ever Steel City Derby matches were played at Bramall Lane on Fri 24th May 2019, with the Blades Home side coming out on top 5-0 in Game 1 and a great comeback from the Owls Away side earning them a 3-3 draw in Game 2.

We'd like to say a huge thanks again to all our fans for their excellent efforts on the pitch and a big thank you to Blades Legend Carl Asaba for his fantastic support on the day.

Our 1st ever Steel City Derby matches were played at Bramall Lane on Fri 24th May 2019, with the games giving fans of Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday the unique opportunity to pull on their club's shirt and pit their wits against their biggest rivals.

Both games wre keenly contested, with the Blades Home side coming out on top 5-0 in Game 1 and a great comeback from the Owls Away side earning them a 3-3 draw against Carl Asaba's Home side.

CHARITIES FUNDED

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
