Player Stories

It literally was a dream come true! Never thought I would get to step foot on the pitch, never mind play, win, and score! Walking into the changing room and seeing your shirt hanging there was an amazing feeling. The whole night was absolutely brilliant and I am so glad I did it. Thank you for giving the likes of me the opportunity to 'Live the Dream'.

Football Aid 2016

Our 2016 game at Ibrox was a hugely enjoyable event for all involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to our Gers fans for their excellent efforts on the pitch and Legends Ally Dawson, Gordon Smith and Ian Murray who were on hand to play in the game and share their expert experience.

You can check out Match Reports below and see official photographs in our Image Gallery.

History & Background

Rangers FC signed up for our debut season of games in 2001 and our Gers fans have been regularly stunned into silence over the years when meeting their Football Aid Legends and Managers at Ibrox. The impressive list includes 'Hall of Famers' Sandy Jardine (RIP), Ally McCoist, Richard Gough, Bobby Russell and Mark Hateley, with fellow Ibrox legends including Ally Dawson, Gordon Smith, Derek McInnes, Alan McLaren, Gordon Durie, Trevor Steven, Billy Dodds, Alex Rae, Gary McSwegan, Alec Cleland, Ian Murray and Jonatan Johansson also featuring in recent years.

Our games at Ibrox are organised in association with the Rangers Charity Foundation and we've been extremely privileged to have their valuable support over the years.

Charities funded

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
