Event Update: At this time we haven't received any updates from the club to suggest this year's games will definitely be affected by the vitally important measures currently being taken to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic in the UK. We're working with the club to try to secure a date for our games as soon as possible and we'll post updates on this page when we get them. In the meantime we'd encourage all those keen to take part to continue to support our charity by securing any positions still available in our games.

Player Stories

Please take my greatest praise for the day I had on Thursday (9th May) ay Celtic park.

All your staff on hand during the day were exceptional and I could not fault a single thing! I’d say the day ranked up there along with the birth of my children and wedding day as one of the best days of my life!!

Football Aid 2019

Our 2019 games at Celtic Park were hugely enjoyable events for all those involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to our Celtic players for their excellent efforts on the pitch and Legends Danny McGrain and Joe Miller for their fantastic support on the day.

History & Background

Celtic were the 1st club to sign up with Football Aid and with the Glasgow giant's support, other clubs were quick to follow suit, with 47 games played in 45 Clubs around the UK in our debut season in 2001! Prominent Diabetes campaigner and Scotland legend Danny McGrain is the Club's Ambassador, as well as Football Aid's Vice Patron, and over the years, thanks to his endless passion for our cause, we've been able to call on a who's who of Celtic Legends, with the likes of Paul Lambert, Neil Lennon, Joe Miller, Tom Boyd, Andy Walker, Darren Jackson, Tosh McKinlay, Bobby Petta, George McCluskey, John Kennedy and Mark Burchill all playing in our games, while Billy McNeill, Bertie Auld and Bobby Lennox have all relished their roles as Managers.

Our games at Celtic Park are organised in association with the Celtic FC Foundation and we're extremely privileged to have their valuable support.

Charities funded

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
