FOOTBALL AID 2020/21

Our most recent Wigan Athletic game was due to be played at the DW Stadium on Wednesday 6th May 2020, however it had to be re-scheduled due to the Covid-19 restrictions in the UK.

We remain in communication with the club as we look to confirm a re-scheduled date for our game and as soon as we get an update we'll e-mail all our players and post full details here. Selected positions might become available again when the game is re-arranged and you can see full details on the Wigan Game 1 page in the Upcoming Fixtures.

If you're interested in Living the Dream at the DW Stadium and you'd like to be kept informed when positions go back on sale then make sure and REGISTER on the website or e-mail us at info@footballaid.com.

Football Aid 2015

Our 2015 game at the DW Stadium was a hugely enjoyable event for all involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to our fans for their excellent efforts on the pitch and Legends Neill Rimmer and Joe Parkinson for their fantastic support on the day.

Visit our Newsroom to see Match Reports, Player Stories and a Gallery of Images from our previous games.

History & Background

The Latics were originally welcomed into the Football Aid family in 2005 to host a 'Legends Master Class' at the club's academy and they continued to host training day events up until 2007. Reserve Team Coach at the time, David Lowe and former Wigan winger, David Lee ran the show in 2006, putting fans through the drills, thrills and spills experienced by pro footballers during training sessions, while Lee McCulloch was also onside to stamp his seal of the approval on the event, explaining, "It's great to see others put through their paces for once!".

Thanks to the excellent support of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust we were able to host our 1st ever game at the DW Stadium on the 10th May 2015. The debut game at the stadium featured Latics Legends Neill Rimmer and Joe Parkinson and was a huge success with all the supporters involved.

CHARITIES FUNDED

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
