Football Aid 2020

Due to the important health measures currently being taken to deal with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK, and the subsequent impact it has had on the scheduling of the football season across Europe, we were keen to keep our lines of communication open with you in relation to the situation here at Football Aid and our unique Live The Dream events.

We are in regular contact with all of our partner clubs, due to the ongoing situation within the football industry, and the uncertainty surrounding the completion of the 2019/20 Season. We are preparing for the eventuality that our events scheduled for April and May will be rescheduled to a later date, with the distinct possibility that some of the rescheduled dates may now be in 2021. We will of course keep all of our players informed by e-mail in the coming weeks as and when we receive more information from our clubs.

If you have any questions we’re more than happy to advise further, please e-mail: info@footballaid.com

In the meantime, here is a link to the latest Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice on the NHS website which you may find helpful: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Football Aid 2019

Our Wales vs Rest of the World International on Mon 26th Nov 2018 was a huge success, with our players doing themselves proud in front of their enthusiastic supporters. We were extremely fortunate to have former Wales under-21 International Lee Jenkins play in the game and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to him for his excellent support.

The game itself was a tightly fought contest, with 2 late goals from the Rest of the World Away team allowing them to come out on top 2-5, however both teams could be extremely proud of their excellent efforts on the day!

History & Background

The 2nd April 2009 saw the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Football Aid history, with the 1st ever Wales International taking place at the world famous Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Our debut event saw a Wales Home team taking on a Rest of the World Away team, with the Home side led by Clayton Blackmore coming out on top 7-1 against the Away side featuring Pat Nevin and Trevor Steven. Since then we've had 4 x additional matches between 2011-2016, with Wales Internationals Andy Legg and Steve Jenkins featuring in the matches at the renamed Principality Stadium.

We were very excited to make a return to the Principality Stadium for our Wales vs Rest of the World International on Mon 26th November 2018. The game was a huge success, with 2 late goals from the Rest of the World allowing them to come out on top 2-5, however the Wales Home team will be looking to gain revenge in our next fixture!

CHARITIES FUNDED

Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
