Absolutely loved it. It’s always been one of my dreams to play at St Mary’s Stadium. And it wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for Football Aid. It was an incredible experience and worth every penny! It was my first time and the staff of Football Aid and players made me feel comfortable and up for it!. Now I have the bug I’ll most certainly be doing this again next year.Read more
Football Aid 2018
Our 2018 game at St Mary's was a hugely enjoyable event for all involved and we'd like to say a massive thanks again to all our Saints fans for their excellent efforts on the hallowed turf.

Background & History
The 4th April 2001, saw the first ever Football Aid event kick off at The Dell, with legends Jimmy Case and Mark Dennis captaining the teams on the day. It was a spectacular start to our 1st season of games - with the Away team romping to an 8-1 victory - and by the end of the month, 47 games had taken place at 45 Clubs across the UK, involving over 1200 players, 263 goals and controversially 1 red card!
In 2002 our Southampton matches made the move to the highly impressive St Mary's Stadium and the games we hosted up until 2009 continued to feature a host of Saints greats, with the likes of Francis Benali, Jason Dodd, Gordon Watson, John Sydenham, Reuben Agboola, Dave Puckett and Ian Juryeff all showing their support. After a break of a few years we were very excited to make a return to St Mary's in 2017 and our games since have been hugely enjoyable events for the Saints fans involved.
Football Aid could certainly be described as a game of two halves. On one side we’re fulfilling fans’ lifelong ambitions to grace the hallowed turf at the club they support. At the same time, we’ve raised significant funds for a host of charity and community projects on a regional, national and international scale. This perfect balance is changing lives, making dreams come true and benefiting the beautiful game.
