Football Aid Italia Games Raise £10,000 for Gaslini Children's Hospital

We're delighted to confirm the funds raised from the 1st ever Football Aid Italia games have enabled us to make a donation of £10,000 (12,675 euros) to the Ospedale Pediatrico Gaslini (Gaslini Children's Hospital) in Genoa.

The world famous institute was founded in 1931 by Senator Gerolamo Gaslini in honour of his daughter who passed away in her infancy. It started its activity in 1938 and has been at the forefront in the fields of research and treatment ever since. All paediatric and surgical services are practised at the Institute, which also houses scientific laboratories, as well as affiliated university departments.

A spokesman for the institute explained: "We really appreciate the donation made thanks to the Football Aid events for the purchase of such an important equipment for the hospital. The twin stream ventilator will substantially improve the safety of trachea surgical procedures for our young patients."

We'd like to send a massive thank you to everybody who helped make our 1st ever Italian events possible this year; including our Football Aid Italia representatives, Genoa C.F.C and U.C. Sampdoria, the Regional Minister for Sport and Leisure - Liguria, the Comune di Genova (Genoa City Council), the Department of School, Sport and City Policies, SAAR Depositi Portuali's Giuseppe Costa and of course our fantastic supporters who helped raise the much needed funds for the Ospedale Pediatrico Gaslini.

We hope to make more Football Aid Italia events available soon, so if you're interested in taking part in Football Aid 2015 please keep an eye on our Book & Play section for news updates. image
