We're delighted to be able to share the details of some of the 1st grant awards to be finalised from the Football Aid 2014 games.
As ever we'd like to say a massive thank you again to all our season 2014 players for their fantastic fundraising efforts and it's a privilege to announce that over £2.13M in total has now been paid out or designated as payable to charities in the 14 years since Field of Dreams was established.
Man Utd 2014: Manchester United Foundation - £10,000
"This is a great contribution to our ongoing commitment of protecting Vietnam’s vulnerable children. This amount could train 40 social workers to enable them to respond to an abused child or provide shelter, treatment and support from 25 children who have been a victim of child trafficking."
Gillian Mitchell - Operations Manager at the MU Foundation
Newcastle Utd 2014: Newcastle United Foundation - £4,000
"Thank you for your generous donation. Last season, the Newcastle United Foundation helped over 50,000 local people in disadvantaged communities and we want to increase this in our 2014/15 season. As an independent charity, we need to raise over £2 million annually and with your generosity, you are helping us to do this."
Jennifer Rea - Events and Fundraising Coordinator at the Newcastle United Foundation
QPR 2014: QPR in the Community Trust - £3,035
"QPR in the Community Trust would like to thank Field of Dreams for their generous support. This grant will be vital in keeping our SUPA Hoops project sustained. This project has been running as a pilot and delivers football sessions to children with Autism ages 4-11. It is fantastic that we have the opportunity to continue and hopefully expand theses sessions. Thank you."
Fiona Hodgson - Business Development Manager, Queens Park Rangers in the Community Trust
Tottenham Hotspur 2014: Tottenham Hotspur Foundation - £18,000
"Many thanks for the acknowledgement of our support through the £18,000 grant. This will enable us to continue our work with the CycleFun project and impact on the local community."
Nichola Kelly - Employment and Skills Manager at the TH Foundation
Celtic 2014: Celtic FC Foundation - £8,000
"Without the continued support of the Field of Dreams grant award, Celtic FC Foundation would not be able to make a difference to the lives of so many families in Glasgow and the surrounding areas over the Christmas period. The grant award helps us to give families, who would otherwise go without, a proper Christmas meal and toys for the younger children. On behalf of the families and associated schools who are involved on this project, we thank you whole heartedly for your support."
Angela Dowdells - Head of Operations at the Celtic FC Foundation
