    It was a sunny day in Glasgow, when 28 excited Celtic fans arrived at Parkhead. There were a mixture of nerves and anticipation, as they were waiting to take part in the Football Aid game, whilst making their debut at Celtic Park.

    The excitement was almost tangible for all those arriving at Camp Nou in the morning of 12 July 2003. Football Aid was about to hold its first ever European event at Barcelona, and there were 30 excited fans waiting to play on one of the most famous pitches in the world.

    It was a day of mixed weather, as 28 players arrived at Tynecastle, nervously clutching their kit bags. Despite being nervous, these players were all very excited as they were about to take part in the final game of the Football Aid season.

    This year’s Football Aid event, which witnessed two games being played on the hallowed Pittodrie turf for the first time, raised almost £14,000 for the charity, a fantastic achievement for all those involved.

    Thirty delighted fans arrived to the sight of Old Trafford still flying the Champions League flags, evidence that the final had been held just 3 days before.

    It was a pleasant evening as 28 excited Owls fans arrived at Hillsborough clutching their kit bags and raring to go. Despite the excitement, there was some amount of nerves as they were preparing to make their debuts in a fully officiated game with Football Aid.

    The weather was not ideal for a footballing debut, as 30 excited West Ham fans arrived at Upton Park to play in their Football Aid game.
  • Leicester City 2003
    Kick off 7.30pm

    No-one could have predicted the eventual outcome of this match at Leicester City FC played in the torrential rain. As it kicked off, the play was lively and well balanced, but the Home team soon stepped up a gear and took control of the show.
  • Sheffield United 2003
    Kick Off 10am

    It was a cloudy, wet day in Sheffield, when 28 excited United fans arrived at Bramall Lane. There were a mixture of nerves and anticipation, as they were waiting to take part in the Football Aid game, and make their debut for Sheffield United.
