Scotland Game 1 2007

Football Aid Championships, Saturday June 2nd, Hampden Park

Scotland Home 0 – Scotland Away 4

A double from Jarman helped Scotland Away cruise to a commanding win over Pat Nevin’s side at Hampden.

The first half was an evenly balanced affair, only a penalty – confidently taken by Jarman in the 19th minute - separating the two sides.

Away defender Perreur-Lloyd revealed his eye for goal, posing a threat with a great run on the 10 minute mark while Jarman was unlucky with the first real attempt of the match, his strike skimming the bar shortly after.

Pat Nevin was looking bright throughout while Home keeper McCorkindale worked hard under pressure, pulling off a daring double save to prevent Jackson’s men pulling further ahead into the break.

The Home team piled on the pressure in the start of the second half, hungry for an equaliser. McLaren came close with a fantastic free kick, the ball thumping off the post much to the disappointment of the Home crowd.

However, Away soon found their stride, Tammam netting their second on the 70-minute mark with a well placed low ball to the left of McCorkindale.

Donald was delighted to add to the score line 10 minutes later, breaking clear of the pack to slot the ball cleanly past the keeper to make it 0-3.

The Home team battled on, but failed to find that telling final ball and in the dying minutes of play, Jarman bagged his double, rounding McCorkindale and powering the ball home off his left foot. The final score 0-4.
