Arsenal Game 2 2005

The 14th of May will be a day to remember for our energized players that were eagerly waiting to enter the dressing rooms at Highbury and grace the hallowed turf in a 90-minute game of football, to live their dream.

Finally the whistle blew for kick off and the players began the game of their dreams on Highbury’s green grass. All the players gave 100%, which resulted in a triumph for the Home team who won with 3-0.

Scorers Home team –

No 2 Alan Clarke, No 15 Simon Wratten and No 7 James Bender

It was a memorable day for family, friends, players and Football Aid staff who all enjoyed to see the players live their dream on the pitch.

Darryl Coulter and Keith Jury were captains on the day.

Man on the match

Kieran Quinn from the Home team and Simon Robertson from the Away team were nominated men of the match for outstanding performances on the pitch.

Quotes from the day:

“It was a fantastic day and definitely worth while, I would like to thank all of you for making it a day I will remember for the rest of my life.”

“Thank you for the opportunity to do this. I have fulfilled a dream, so much so that I didn’t realise that I had lost my wedding ring on the day! I think I may have left in changing room. It is gold with 12 small diamonds in it, if found please can’t wait for next year!”
