The Home side, wearing the traditional green and white Hoops got our 2nd game of the day underway, just as the famous You’ll Never Walk Alone finished playing around the stadium.

It was the Away side who were immediately on the attack, but No 9 Alan O’Donnell couldn’t guide his bullet header on target.

The Away side kept coming and coming at the Home defence, a low driven cross by No 11 David Cosgrove found No 8 Ethu Crorie at the near post, but a smart save from Home No 1 Malcolm Miller saw him guard the goal well.

The top of the crossbar came to the rescue next for the Home team when Away No 6 Barry McGrath’s volley, just past the centre circle, looped towards the goal.

The chances kept coming for the Away team; another inviting cross from No 11 David Cosgrove found Ethu Crorie free at the back post, but the left midfielder couldn’t keep his half-volley down.

However all the attacking play paid off when the Away side took the lead in the 15th min. A rocket of a shot by Away No 7 Chris Walker found the back of the net, giving his side a lead they richly deserved (0-1).

And another clinical finish 2 mins later saw Away No 7 Chris Walker get his, and his team’s, 2nd goal of the game with less than a quarter of the game gone (0-2).

The Home side were finding their feet in the game now and were pressing to get on the scoresheet themselves but the Away team were back in the goals again in the 36th min. Away No 11 David Cosgrove with a great strike from a tight angle, almost bursting the net and making it (0-3)!

The referee called time on a dominant first half for the Away side, which saw them lead 0-3. Could the Home side find a comeback in the 2nd half?

Half Time: Celtic (Home) 0 - 3 Celtic (Away)

The Away side restarted the 2nd half looking to keep hold of possession and maintain their lead.

Some brilliant team passing from the Away side saw No 9 Alan O’Donnell break free to face Home No 1 Malcolm Miller, the keeper pulled off a great save before No 17 Tom Lyons finished the defending job on the line by clearing the ball to safety.

The Away team continued where they left off in the 1st half and a 2nd goal of the game duly arrived for Away No 11 David Cosgrove on 53mins. His cool finish going through the legs of the unfortunate diving keeper Miller (0-4).

It was soon 0-5 to the Away team when Away No 14 Patrick McGarvey picked the ball up just inside the box and curled it into the top left hand corner of the goal (0-5).

The Home team was trying their hardest to get back into the game and Home No 11 Ryan McDonald came closest, forcing Away No 1 Neil Palmer to dive low to stop him from finding his team’s opening goal.

Away No 11 David Cosgrove was having a great game in front of goal and he notched up his hat-trick in the 65th min when he toyed with the defenders before firing home to make it (0-6).

Another chance fell for the battling Home side when the ball fell into the path of Home No 9 Paul Clark, the striker’s powerful volley was struck well and Away No 1 Neil Palmer struggled to keep hold of the ball, but the chance came and went for the Home team this time.

The pace and direct running ability of the impressive Away No 7 Chris Walker was having a big influence on the game and the midfielder also bagged himself a hat-trick when he scored with a fine finish from close range to make it (0-7) in the 88th min. That was the cue for the Magnificent Seven music to be blasted out over the PA, always a popular tune in these parts!

A minute later the Away team capped off an impressive win, Away No 2 Paul Walker scoring with a great finish to bring the score to (0-8) and spark wild celebrations amongst the Walker family!

That was it, the referee called time on a very strong attacking performance by the Away side which saw them win the contest 0-8. However the Home team could be hugely proud of the teamwork and spirited performance they put in on the Celtic Park pitch.

Many thanks to all the players and spectators who lived the dream at Paradise and also huge thanks to Celtic FC for allowing us to host 2 games at the fantastic Celtic Park with legends Danny McGrain and Joe Miler joining us.
