    An early start for all at the Charlton leg of the Championship with the players arriving at The Valley bleary eyed yet raring to go for their 9am kick off on Monday 23rd May.

    Whilst enjoying the match of a lifetime the 22nd of May, Leicester Football Aid players helped to support local, national and international projects through Football Aid’s multi-beneficiary award scheme. Legend John Ogilvie managed the Home team and Tommy Williams managed the Away team in a thrilling game of football, which ended 5-2 in favour of the Home team.

    In front of a loud cheering crowd, Football Aid players lived their dream at a showery Old Trafford. Wilf McGuinness managed both teams enthusiastically in his own unique style and playing for each team on the day was fellow club legend Lee Martin. They both contributed to making a great day and an unforgettable experience for the players and their friends and families.

    Even though dark clouds were threatening from above there were wide smiles on the Football Aid participants faces who were about to enter Stamford Bridge for a 90 minute dream come true football match together with legends Clive Walker playing for the home team, Jason Cundy playing for the away team and managing and Gary Chivers manager for the home team.

    The dream finally came true for 30 ecstatic Football Aid players who graced Old Trafford for a 90-minute game of Football managed by Wilf McGuinness and Lee Martin as a playing legend. Friends and family on the stand were cheering loudly at the very close and thrilling match where the Away team ended as worthy winners in a very close game.

    Football Aid’s first ever celebrity football match at West Ham Upton Park kicked off Friday the 20th of May, with the brave Football Aid players taking on a team of 7 ex West Ham players, Tony Cesay - ABA Boxing Champion and Iron Maiden’s Steve Harris amongst others, in a 90 minute exhilarating game of football.
  • Liverpool 2005
    28 men set out to Anfield stadium the 29th of May to live their childhood dream and play a full 90 minute game of football on the hallowed turf together with Liverpool legends Phil Neal, David Fairclough and Alan Kennedy by their side to manage and encourage them through out the game. It was a fantastic end-to-end match played in on an immaculate pitch with a highly vocal crowd.

    It was a busy day for Football Aid with the team split around the UK covering three big matches – Liverpool, West Ham Celebrity and Sheffield Wednesday.

    After a much needed few days rest, the Football Aid team headed down south for the biggest weekend of the Championship so far. With 6 games organised over 4 days, the schedule was gruelling but as always fulfilling.
