2008 EVENT CANCELLED

We have to announce with great regret that our Wigan Athletic game this year has had to be cancelled. A club spokesman has confirmed that: "We are doing some much needed work to the training pitches in readiness for the return of the players in mid-July. We apologise for this decision, and we will endeavour to support Football Aid in any other way we can this year, and hope to reinistate the Legends Masterclass again next season."

EVENT DETAILS

The Legends Master Class gives fans an exclusive insight into the life of a professional footballer: gaining access to and using the Club’s Academy training facilities, sacred areas not usually open to mere mortals. The day continues with a meeting with the coaches and moves to the changing rooms to pull on personalised training strips before the hard work begins. A tough but fulfilling morning follows with drills, gym work, game analysis and nutritional information before breaking for lunch and resting before the 90 min replica training match in the afternoon.

Please note the 90 mins match will be taking place at the Club's Training Ground and NOT The JJB Stadium. This event is for players only, no guests will be allowed entry on the day.

EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY & FILMING

Wherever possible, official match photographs and a match day DVD will be made available to be purchased on the day of the game. Players will receive a Final Details e-mail to confirm these details in the weeks leading up to your game. Examples photos and DVD footage can be found in our Gallery page.
