CLUB HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Southend United are one of the latest signings to the Football Aid programme of events, having confirmed their participation in our 2008-09 season. The club's Roots Hall stadium has been the home of the Shrimpers for over 50 years, and with a move to a purpose built stadium in 2010-11 now confirmed, the club's fans will no doubt be extremely keen to grace the Roots Hall turf while they still have the chance. With strong backing from the club promised in supporting and promoting the event we are looking forward to a highly successful debut event for the club.
