CLUB HISTORY & BACKGROUND

Club Ambassador John Hendrie made his Football Aid debut in 2005 as the playing Legend for the 'Away' team. Hendrie seemed every bit as overwhelmed by his return to The Riverside as the rest of our participants, charging into the Home dressing room at half time by mistake! The prolific striker became a Football Aid Ambassador the following year and fellow Boro heroes Steve Vickers, Curtis Fleming, Robbie Mustoe, Mark Proctor and local radio celebrity Bernie Slaven have all joined him by taking part in our lively events at The Riverside in recent years.
