Newcastle United joined the Football Aid family in 2001 and continued to host events until 2003 at St James' Park. Legends involved in those early games included Peter Beardsley, Bobby Moncur, Mick Martin and Kenny Wharton with the match in 2003 even featuring a cameo appearance by Manager at the time Sir Bobby Robson! The Club hosted the inaugural Legends Master Class back in 2005, with fans taking part in a day's training and match action at the Club's Academy. Since 2007, the action has moved back to St James' Park, with fans' favourites like Peter Beardsley, Mick Martin, John Anderson, John Carver, Alan Shoulder, Joe Allon and Ian Bogie thrilling the ever excitable St James' faithful.
SEASON 2012 UPDATE
We have been informed that due to the Olympics football tournament taking place at St James' Park from 26th July 2012 that unfortunately we won't be able to host our Newcastle United Football Aid game this season. The club remain strong supporters of our organisation though and we do expect to be able to host an event at St James' in 2013.
