Newcastle United joined the Football Aid family in 2001 and continued to host events until 2003 at St James' Park. Legends involved in those early games included Peter Beardsley, Bobby Moncur, Mick Martin and Kenny Wharton with the match in 2003 even featuring a cameo appearance by Manager at the time Sir Bobby Robson!
The Club hosted the premiere of our Legends Master Class back in 2005, with 28 Magpie Mad fans gaining an exclusive insight into the day in the life of a pro, by taking part in a day's training and match action at the Club's famed Academy training ground. In 2007, the action moved back to St James Park, where fans' favourite Peter Beardsley terrorised the Away team's defence with his superior skills, helping to secure a nail-biting victory over Mick Martin's Home team.
