Coventry City nominated Coventry's Education Action Zone (EAZ) to receive the funds raised from the 2001 Football Aid game at Highfield Road. EAZ aims to enhance young people's learning experiences in the northeast of the City, enabling them to achieve higher standards of academic, vocational and personal successes.  The Zone therefore contributes to the employability of young people in the northeast of the City and thus to the economic regeneration of the area The Zone covers 2 special schools, 11 primary schools and 4 secondary schools within the Wood End, Henley Green, Woodway Park, Bell Green, Longford, Foleshill and Alderman's Green areas. These parts of the City have high levels of deprivation and disadvantage and too many young people leave school lacking the necessary skills to play a full part in economic and social life of the City. The Field of Dreams grant funded health and education related equipment as well as providing rewards for teenagers achieving perfect attendance for at school. As a result of the 2007 Football Aid event at the Ricoh, Coventry City have £2,000 to award to a charity of their choice. Full details will follow shortly.
